Skills tell your AI Setter how to handle a specific situation in a conversation (an objection, a qualifying question, a special offer, or a concern). Writing one by hand means filling in a name, a description, the instructions Charlie should follow, and the context it needs. And a template might not be as tailored as needed. There fore, we developed a solution for you.

The AI Skill Builder creates. a custom skill in less time, and using all the insights you provide. You describe what you want the skill to do in your own words, Charlie asks a few follow-up questions to fill the gaps, and it produces a complete, correctly structured skill that you can review and edit before saving.

In this guide we will explain the benefits, step by step guide and tips.

Why use it

  • No blank page. You describe the outcome, Charlie writes the structure.

  • Consistency. Generated skills follow the same structure as Charlie's pre-defined skill templates, which is the format the AI responds to best.

  • Speed. A skill that takes several minutes to write by hand takes one prompt plus a couple of answers.

  • Still fully editable. Nothing is saved until you review the wording and confirm.

Where to find it

  1. Open the Setter you want to add the skill to.

  2. Go to the Skills tab.

  3. Click + Add skill in the top right corner.

  4. Choose the AI Skill Builder.

You can also start from Add skills template in the bottom left corner if you would rather begin from one of Charlie's ready-made skills instead of generating one.

Building a skill step by step

Step 1 — Describe what you need. Tell Charlie what the skill should do, in plain language. You can also paste in supporting information (for example your objection-handling notes or an offer description) for Charlie to work from.

Step 2 — Answer the follow-up questions. Charlie asks context-aware follow-up questions to refine the skill — the questions depend on what you wrote in step 1. Answering them is what turns a one-line idea into a skill that behaves the way you expect.

Step 3 — Preview the skill. When Charlie has enough context, it generates the complete skill in the structured format used by the skill templates: name, description, instructions and context.

Step 4 — Review, edit and save. Read the generated wording, edit anything you want to change, then save. The skill appears in the Setter's Skills list and can be enabled or disabled like any other skill.

  • Weak: "Handle price objections."

  • Better: "When a lead says the program is too expensive, acknowledge it, restate the outcome they told us they want, and offer the payment-plan option before asking again for the call."

  • Include: the trigger (when this applies), the tone, the outcome you want, and anything Charlie must not say.

Tips

  • One situation per skill. Several small, sharply scoped skills beat one long catch-all.

  • Re-read the instructions section before saving — that is the part the AI follows most literally.

  • After saving, test in a live conversation and refine. You can re-open and edit a generated skill at any time.
