Step-by-Step Guide: Setting Up Zapier Catch Hooks

1. Select Your Setter

  • Go to the integration step where you’ll find the option for Zapier.

2. Configure Catch Hooks in Zapier

  • In the Zapier integration, you will see multiple Catch Hooks.

  • Each Catch Hook is triggered by different actions such as:

    • Lead created

    • Lead message

    • Charlie message

    • Lead disqualified

    • CTA reached

    • Lead booked

    • Lead kill switched

3. Add Catch Hook URLs

  • You can paste different Catch Hook URLs for each event, or use the same Catch Hook URL for all events.

4. Filter Based on Trigger

  • If you need to filter the events, you can do so based on the trigger.

  • The payload you’ll receive contains important information like:

    • Lead’s ID

    • Setter’s ID

    • Other relevant data

5. Understand Optional Fields

  • Each Catch Hook comes with its respective optional fields:

    • Kill switched: Lead kill switched Catch Hook

    • Booked: Lead booked Catch Hook

    • Disqualified: Lead disqualified Catch Hook

    • Message: Lead messaged and Charlie messaged Catch Hooks

6. Set Up Your Zap

  • Go to your Zapier dashboard and create a new Zap:

    • Choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger.

    • Select Catch Hook as the trigger event.

    • Continue to the next steps and generate the Webhook URL.

7. Configure Events in the Zap

  • Paste the Webhook URL into the necessary events.

  • You can do this for multiple events in one Zap or create separate Zaps for each event.

8. Set Up the Action

  • After configuring the triggers, set up an action, for example:

    • Choose Slack and select a channel to send a message.

    • Configure the action to send a message to the channel.

9. Test and Publish the Zap

  • Skip or run the tests to ensure everything works.

  • Once ready, click Publish to activate the Zap.

10. Enable the Zap

  • After publishing, return to the Zapier dashboard.

  • Make sure the Zap is enabled for testing, such as enabling it for playground leads.

11. Test the Integration

  • Go to the playground to have a conversation and test the Zap.

  • Verify the following:

    • CTA reached

    • Intro messages received

    • Lead message information in the Zap dashboard

    • Zap runs and catch hooks activity

12. Handling Special Cases

  • For actions like lead disqualification or kill switching:

    • Check the Zap runs to see whether the lead was kill-switched or disqualified.

    • Refresh to view updates in the dashboard, such as killswitch: true or disqualification: true.

  • You can also reverse actions by removing the killswitch or disqualification, which will update the status to false.
