Here is the zapier trigger templated. Just changed the trigger from lead connecter to your CRM

Setting Up Zapier to Activate Your DM Setter

Overview

This guide explains how to set up a Zapier integration with Charlie, including both the main trigger and kill switch setup.

Prerequisites

  • CRM with a zapier integration

  • Zapier account

  • Charlie dashboard access

  • Twilio integration

  • Your AI setter ID

  • Your API key

  • Your Twilio number

Main Integration Setup

Step 1: Import Activation Zap Template

  1. >>Click Here<< to Import Zap Template

  2. Click where it says "Try this zap"

  3. Select your CRM as the trigger app

Step 2: Configure CRM Trigger

  1. Connect your CRM account if not already connected

  2. Choose your trigger event. Options include:

    • New Contact

    • New Contact in Pipeline

    • New Lead

    • New Lead in Smart View

    • Note: Smart View or Pipeline or Opportunities options provide more control over trigger conditions

Step 3: Configure Webhook Settings

  1. Access your Charlie dashboard

  2. Locate and copy your AI setter ID

  3. In the Zapier webhook configuration, enter the following information:

    • AI Setter ID: [Paste your AI setter ID]

    • API Key: [Paste your API key from dashboard]

    • Twilio Number: [Enter your Twilio number]

    Example of all the fields in the webhook configuration you'll need to have in your data fields:

Step 4: Map CRM Data Fields

Configure the following mappings from your CRM:

  1. Name: Map to lead's name from your CRM

  2. Phone Number: Map to lead's phone number from your CRM

  3. Time Zone: (Optional) Map to lead's time zone from your CRM

    • Note: Time zone is important for Calendly auto-booking

  4. Email: Map to lead's email from your CRM

Step 5: Finalize Setup

  1. Review all configurations

  2. Click Continue

  3. Click Publish to activate the Zap

Kill Switch Setup

Step 1: Create New Kill Switch Zap

  1. Create another Zap

  2. Select your CRM as the trigger app

Step 2: Configure Kill Switch Trigger

  1. Choose the appropriate trigger event

    • Example: "New Meeting Booked"

  2. Use the specific kill switch URL (different from main integration)

  3. Configure the same field mappings as the main integration

Step 3: Activate Kill Switch

  1. Review configurations

  2. Test the trigger

  3. Publish the kill switch Zap

Important Notes

  • The kill switch URL is different from the main integration URL

  • The kill switch will automatically deactivate Charlie when triggered

  • Smart View triggers provide more precise control over when automations fire

  • All credentials (AI setter ID, API key, Twilio number) should be kept secure
